Hybrid Theatre Education

The World Theatre Training Institute AKT-ZENT/ITI has set up this working group within the ITI/UNESCO Network for Higher Education in the Performing Arts to explore the potential for development in the field of hybrid tuition. Based online, this focusses on the student/artist doing self-study. It has many advantages, not least allowing people in geographically out of reach places to have access to theatre education. This will also help to keep pace with the demands of a new generation of students accustomed to finding information online. The course is to be developed over a series of meetings and discussions, as well as methodological research and training programmes for acting and directing teachers. This will enlarge the Networks reach and perspective and allow for diversification.
