ITI/UNESCO Network for Higher Education in the Performing Arts Projects

Africa Educational Project

There is a huge need for Performing Arts education and participation for African emerging artists. They are hungry to learn, but have very few opportunities, platforms or facilities in which to do so. This means that some emigrate for their performing arts education with the result that the local community misses out on the benefits of their education. The majority simply have no access to performing arts education. This Project seeks to attract experienced and young people from all over the world to help run initiatives which would lend a proper educational infrastructure, code of conduct, and best practices to African emerging artists. This will allow them to put in place worthy performing arts programmes more widely. A proposed way in which this might work is a Summer Academy, where experts, practitioners and students from around the world attend.
